"No....Yeah"

It is the new song by Boston pop artist Michael Africk featuring Sam Adams.

I must say, the combination of vocals is a grand slam, out of the park hit. The beat will make you move. It is a feel good get up on the dance floor, shake that ass in your seat kind of song. He knows how to work the crowd. I have seen it with my own eyes and have to say it is quite enjoyable. The guy is very talented with a soothing voice that puts a smile on your face.

He has also spent time in Japan producing, recording and performing with/for Mai Kuraki. Mai's voice is amazing, ok so I don't understand Japanese, but you don't really need to understand what she is singing to enjoy her voice. You should check her out as well.

So, with that said, here are the links to some awesome music.

Bright Lights-Big City

Born and raised in Brooklyn NY, I always dreamed of taking the stage
and seeing my name in lights. Stage freight was so fearful/terrible
I couldn't stop shaking. I couldn't imagine being on stage before hundreds
or thousands of people. Then it happened, I had the chance to get on stage
and sing my little tush off.

Standing at the side of the stage, my stomach did flip-flops as I waited
in the wings. Knees began to buckle and weaken to the stress of going out
there, I can see the audience and felt the fear burn deep, the fear so deep
that I could barely hear my name. I wanted the ground to open and take me away.
When my name was called, I slowly made my way to the stage.

What I felt in that moment, glancing at the audience, took me by surprise as
I stepped to the stage. It was the most calming feeling I have ever felt
and have yet to experience again. That is when I knew, I knew that was where
I belonged, that was my calling. That was me! I even received a thunderous
applause after singing and was told I was the best of the 3 vocalist. I,
of course, being me, laughed it off. It was a night like no other.

Now, it's sad to say, that stage freight is back hundred-fold.
I work on the stage freight but it isn't the same.

For now, I am working on my writing and the production. I like being creative,
so that helps with the writing.

Ah Baseball!

The beauty of Spring, is the return of Major League Baseball. There is nothing better than sitting in the stands cheering for your home team. Mine, The New York Mets. Die Hard fan since the womb.

Never understood a few things that Managers/Players do. It's not just my team, but all teams.

A-If your lead is in jeopardy and your Pitcher is showing signs of being tired (of course this is easy to tell since your lead is faltering) why the hell do you keep him in? Most times you lose the game, your Pitcher is burnt and most likely pissed. I know I am when I am watching, so I can imagine how the Pitcher feels. I don't know, maybe I am crazy and think the Pitcher should be relieved at the first signs of struggle. Isn't the what relief Pitchers are for? At least that is what I thought anyway.

2-Greedy swinging. This is another thing that irks me. I've seen this a billion times. Bases loaded, 2 outs, tying (or winning) run at the plate and batter swings at shit. You know he is capable of connecting hard, but that greedy 'I need to be a star' swing takes all that muscle away. Play the game like you love the sport and you'll connect and be that star. So many unscored runs that could've been happened that way-with the greedy swing. I suggest playing like you did as a kid, the love of the game is what brought you to the field, made you pick up that glove, bat and ball.

3-Stealing bases when it is clear that you won't make it. Some players do this. It is such a wasted out when it happens. If you know you just can't make it, stay put! The guy at the plate probably could've got you home, but you made the last out. Need to start playing the game as if you were kids, when you first fell in the with the game.

I love the sport and always will, but some moves/plays that are made, drive me up a wall and make me curse the TV.

I am a New York Met fan through and through. Ups and Downs, Win or Lose, it's Orange and Blue for me. Let's Go Mets! For my Mom and Dad watching from Heaven, Let's make 2011 our year to shine. Of course with a little help from 2 Angels :-)

Dream Car

Ever since I saw a Ryder Truck commercial, I have been obsessed with a Yellow Corvette. The way it came out of the back of the truck and drove off was amazing. Something that stuck with me, drew me in and kept me dreaming over the years and that was in the mid 1980's. Sunshine yellow.

I still want that sunshine yellow corvette today. Maybe one day that will happen until then I will smile and dream of my Sunshine yellow Corvette convertible.

Media Frenzy

It always amuses me how the Media takes a story-no matter the content-and runs with it for days on end, hour after hour. It is like watching piranhas feed and in the aftermath, all that is left is the skeletal remains.
Most recent example is Charlie Sheen. Love the guy as an actor, I really do. Major League is one of my favorite movies, but what would have happened if the media left him alone? What would have happened if they didn’t take his rants and show them on every single broadcast throughout the day for days on end? He probably wouldn’t be making so much money off of it. Afterall, he is #Winning right?

It’s sad when they take a tragedy (of any kind) and turn it into ‘what if…’ segments. What will be will be, the media doesn’t realize people don’t want to be bombarded with ‘what ifs’ to the world ending. Yes, the world will end and I can tell you it won’t end anytime soon. We will not see this happen. Don’t believe everything you hear or read, it’ll drive you nuts!

Enjoy your day!

McDonalds Happy Meal Toy Issue

McDonalds Happy Meal Toy Issue

Recently it has hit the news that McDonald’s is being sued  over the Happy Meal Toy offering. Kids want a Happy Meals because of the toys that are offered inside. Here’s a brilliant idea for all the parents who are complaining that McDonald’s is enticing kids with toys, buy the toy ONLY!

I have a 4 year old who loves the toys from McDonald’s and guess what, she gets the toys without the food. It’s that simple! They offer this option, if you choose not to use it that is your fault, not McDonald's.

Yes, McDonald’s food isn’t the healthiest around, but your rants about a fricking toy is ridiculous. Own up to you giving your child the Happy Meals all the time and introducing your child to them at an early age. Don’t blame McDonald’s for your choices when you could have just purchased the damn toy from the get go. I am speaking from experience. It isn’t McDonald’s fault that you walked through the doors. Remember, YOU and only YOU make the choices for your child and no one else, people seem to forget that.

It amuses me that everyone seems to want to place blame on someone else for their actions.
