Who else finds it amazing that an asteroid came really close to earth and a meteorite was recorded as it landed in Russia? I feel bad for the I injured and can't imagine how they felt as it came crashing through the sky, but scientifically, it is just amazing how these 2 events happened at the same time and had no rhyme or reason to it. And no, I don't think it means the end of the world is near, just an amazing moment in time.

I completely agree that it is amazing. It gave me chills when I heard the meteorite hit Russian. I actually thought it was the asteroid because the timing seemed perfect. When I found out it wasn't I was even more amazed. I watched both the meteorite and the asteroid. Both turned me into a little kid again. I wasn't thinking the end of the world, I was thinking "Wow I was around to witness these great moments". Although the people getting hurt in Russia is not a great a moment. That must have been very scary since it sounded like a sonic boom. I'm sure they were thinking its a bomb. Everything to do with astronomy and the universe always amazes me because we are so small compared to whats beyond our atmosphere.
